Chief Executive Officer Farhana Shaukat, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said the council will take strict legal action against individuals spreading what she described as false claims for vested interests. She said some elements are attempting to defame the council by circulating unverified allegations. “If anyone has proof of illegal construction, they should approach us. We will take action,” she said. Farhana added that those dissatisfied with the council’s functioning can take up the matter directly with the Director Urban Local Bodies, along with evidence.
